TIST Foundation for Economically Backward Rural Students
We are among the first under Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT) to introduce a foundation in line with our commitment to social welfare and the guiding principles of our Institute. TIFERS was inaugurated on 18th October 2004 by Mr. John Brewer, Former District Governor of Rotary International, New York, USA.
The TIFERS foundation partly funds the educational needs of rural economically backward students who wish to take up engineering as their profession.

50% fee concession-value Rs.42602/-
· Seven students have been admitted this year (3 under full fee concession scheme, 2 under 75% concession & 2 under 50% concession scheme.)
The selection for the scheme under TIFERS is done based on competitive examinations conducted in May every year. A book bank has been established to provide deserving students with text books free of cost. Demonstration units are also proposed for Green House and Rural Education under TIFERS.
